| I am really bad at Xanga posting... but at least I return phone calls and emails. I think I would rather be one who keeps in touch using those modes rather than this one. Nonetheless, I know I enjoy reading the emails of other friends posts, so I guess it wouldn't kill me to post again-- it has only been about 6 months... :) So, what's new, you ask? - I got bit by the travel bug this fall. I spent an long weekend visiting friends from camp at Messiah College over Labor Day. I traveled to Dallas to stay with Ashley and Daron and had the best birthday weekend of my life. And last weekend I traveled to NC for the nuptial of Peter Hochstaetter and the Brittany formally known as Waggoner. We dedicated at least 10 minutes of the trip to learning how to spell their last name. I have enjoyed my traveling and have made several conclusions: the airport in Phili has fabulous bathrooms, the only good seats on plans are emergency exit rows and the very first row, and the Atlanta airport is just chaotic and should be avoided at all costs. - I was seriously considering moving sometime soon. I looked into and applied to some teaching positions in Dallas, Raleigh, and Nashville. However, I was recently struck with the realization that I am a New Englander and am not supposed to leave here just yet. I only wish I knew why... - I was offered a position at my school to be a long-term sub for Missy who will be having a baby around Valentine's Day. I wasn't going to accept it because it was only 6 weeks and didn't really seem worth it. However, when I asked MIssy some details about it she told me that she wanted to take 12 weeks, not 6. The way that long term subbing works is that you make regular sub pay (not that great) for the first 4 weeks and then every day after that you start making more than double that. I crunched the numbers and realized that I would make almost double what I am making now for those three months. So, I accepted the position and am looking forward to teaching SECOND GRADE from mid-February to mid-May!! There are a number of teachers retiring in my district this year and my principle has said he will work hard to get me a position for next fall, so hopefully that will work out! - I am always busy. I don't feel like I have that much of a life, but when it comes down to it, my weekends are always packed and I am perpetually exhausted. I don't know how to remedy this. - I bought a new car back in September and am quite pleased with her (still no name...). My little gray '04 Civic treats me quite well. - And last but not least, I am growing out my nails! I have been a habitual nail-biter all my life and I have finally decided to try really hard to grow them out. So far, so good, but we will see how it goes... | | |
| PEACE OUT, friends!
That's right... it is officially that time again. "What time?" you may ask... it's my favorite time of year. The time of the year where I drop off of all things internet and electrical and wrap myself in the world of camp.
To say I am thrilled would be an understatement! I have to be at camp on June 10th (9am sharp). So, I am either going up on Friday night or Saturday morning. And I will be there until August 20th.
Internet, I will not miss you.
My friends, I will miss you. I would love to hear from you via real mail. I think most of the world is on facebook these days...the camp address is in my profile.
Take care and love life!!

| THINGS THE WORLD SHOW KNOW by Colleen Fitzsimmons
My dad had a few tabs open ont he internet when I came to check email this morning. I really appreciate the fact that the USA TODAY tab held the following story for my reading pleasure.
TULSA (AP) — Zac Hanson of pop group Hanson
will marry longtime girlfriend, Kate Tucker, this weekend, the group's
publicist said.
Katie McNeil said, Hanson, 20, and Tucker, 22, his girlfriend of five years, will marry Saturday in Atlanta.
"The couple is planning an intimate ceremony with close family and friends," McNeil said in an e-mail.
Hanson and his brothers Isaac, 25, and Taylor, 23, formed Hanson in Tulsa. They are best known for their 1997 hit single, MMMBop, which helped ignite the boy band craze.
The trio is now working on a follow-up to their 2004 album, Underneath.

| Boo, hiss, America. Boo, hiss.
I can't believe our current American Idol has the last name Hicks. I also can't believe that I actually got sucked into American Idol this year. Don't worry, Katharine. You are beautiful, you are my current cell phone ringer, and I will buy your cds, which will be higher in quality and quantity than those of the karaoke-wedding singer with a ridiculous amount of foolish fans.
